Go-To Makeup Products

My makeup routine is in constant change depending on the season, my desired look, preference and the release of new products. I tend to move between the 'no makeup' makeup look and medium coverage with a natural finish. In terms of brands and stores I shop at, I have my favorites. I can make a face from both the drugstore and high end.

In a future post, I can really dig into more go to products from both the drugstore and Sephora, to give you guys all the options! For now, I'm going to focus on my go to face for this moment in time!

Disclaimer: Not all of these products are cruelty free (which eeks my heart). I've made a conscious decision moving forward that I will not support brands that are yet to be cruelty free in 2020. Do your own research as you see fit when it comes to this. I was super shocked at the mainstream brands that are still not cruelty free! Get it together, people.

For reference my skin type is: combo/normal, not sensitive

1. Primer: I have a handful of primers I switch between depending on the look I'm going for! No primer does it all. There's a time and place for each one, depending on what you want; the pore-less look, matte or dewy finish, longevity.. the list goes on. There's an ongoing debate whether primers are really worth it... I say yes! Top 3: Smashbox Primer Water, Make Up Forever Step 1 Matte Primer and Too Faced Hangover Rx.

2. Foundation: Much like my primer section, this is hard to decide! I could give you a list of top 10 foundations, easily (don't worry, it's coming). Foundation is my favorite product to buy and try; I'm always on a new foundation kick. Much like primers, there's a foundation for every skin type, desired finish, desired coverage and so on. Top 3: L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear & Make Up Forever Reboot (or literally ant MUF foundation).

3. Concealer: I love concealer. There's something so satisfying about the perfect application of concealer. Concealer is also super versatile with looks, whether you're just wearing concealer for a 'no make up' look or applying a full coverage layer under the eyes and t-zone for a flawless face. Drugstore has some of my favorite concealers, so you don't need to splurge on one. Top 3: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, Too Faced Born This Way Concealer and NARS Natural Radiant Creamy Concealer.

4. Setting Powder: I am, and always will be, a ride or die Laura Mercier Translucent Powder FAN. This is my go-to whether I'm baking my T-zone or just setting my under eyes lightly. Within this year I've mixed in the Too Faced Peach Perfect powder and am really enjoying it! I don't bake with the TF one however.

5. Blush & Bronzer: Aside from foundation, blush is my second favorite product to use. Bringing color back to the skin totally livens the face! I can also never pass on a light dusting of bronzer on the perimeter of the face. I have at least 5 favorites of each; this is too hard to decide. Some favorites in the blush department are Mac's New Romance, Tarte Amazonian Clay in Paaarty, Burts Bees Toasted Cinnamon and any Becca blush. Bronzer favorites are NARS Casino, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil and Milani Baked Bronzer.

6. Mascara and Brows: I don't stray away from my mascara or brow products, almost ever. I'm too picky! The drugstore has plenty of good mascaras in my opinion, but that's not where I go for brow products. I'm a ride or die Benefit girl when it comes to brows, I use three of their products interchangeably. My all time best mascara would have to be Too Faced Better Than Sex. A good drugstore dupe for it is Mabelline Lash Paradise.

7. Lip Products: I could not even start to give you my favorite lip recommendations on two counts: 1. I hate wearing lip products and 2. every lip combo I wear is the same color (nude pink). I will say I am a fan of Dose of Colors lip products, Patrick Ta's new lip line is amazing, Make Up Forever has great lip liners, Mabelline gives affordable lipstick options and Mac is the OG lipstick queen.

Well, those are my current favorite makeup products! Let me know what you guys think and lets open the conversation so I can add some of your beauty favorites into my regime.

Coming next is the list of my top foundations, both drugstore and high end!

'Till next time,

-Loz
